LobbyControl is a new civil society initiative that provides information on lobbying, PR campaigns and think tanks and promotes transparency and democracy in Germany and on the European level. LobbyControl is a registered non-profit organisation based in Germany. It has been founded in late 2005 by a small group of people coming from academia and civil society . Contact person and one of the main initiators of the project is the political scientist Ulrich Mueller. From 2001 to early 2005 he worked for the human rights organisation FIAN, before that at the Max Planck-Institut for the Study of Societies.

Financial information
In the beginning LobbyControl was especially supported by the German foundation Bewegungsstiftung : for the period 2005 to 2008 Bewegungsstiftung donated about 44.000 Euro to LobbyControl. LobbyControl also receives contributions from other foundations and non-profit organisations as well as donations and member fees from individual supporters.

Sources of income for 2007:

• Contributions by foundations and non-profit organisations (*): 88.410,68 Euro
• Donations by individual supporters: 28.072,90 Euro
• Member fees: 6.333,50 Euro
• Sale of publications: 1.325,00 Euro
• Interest: 24 Euro

(*) This includes 45,000 Euro for the years 2008 and 2009.

LobbyControl didn’t receive any money from public institutions or corporations. More financial information is available in our annual reports (in German).
